Paul Walker Dead: Photos of crash, accident site flood Twitter

On Nov. 30, 2013, officials confirmed that 40-year-old star of "Fast and Furious" Paul Walker had lost his life in a fiery car crash. At first, the news stunned and shocked, leaving many to think it was another Internet death hoax. Unfortunately, Walker's reps, his official Facebook page, charitable organization, and L.A. County Sheriff's office confirmed the news. It wasn't long before photos from the crash and accident site began to flood Twitter as well.

TMZ first broke the news that Walker and another person were in a Porsche when the vehicle crashed into a pole or tree, then burst into flames.

You may see photos from the crash site that have appeared on Twitter below. As these are photos shared on a social media networking site, I cannot confirm or deny their validity. I am only resharing what is currently on Twitter.

Watch Miss America pageant 2014 with Miss New York Nina Davuluri (photos, videos)

If you missed the Miss America 2014 contestant that aired live from Atlantic City, New Jersey on ABC, September 15, 2013, you're in luck. While the video has yet to air on ABC.Go. or HULU, one devoted pageant lover has added it to a phenomenal playlist sure to bring a smile to any beauty pageant enthusiast's face.

Miss New York wins Miss America 2014
If you are unaware, I hate to be a spoiler, but as you're certain to find out in the links below, Miss New York Nina Davuluri was crowned Miss America 2014. She did an amazing performance of a Bollywood/Fusion dance routine, that I think secured the win for her. Beside having a beautiful face and gorgeous figure, there was little doubt that she would be a top contender.

This marks the second year in a row that Miss New York took the crown; but unfortunately, some were upset of Nina Davuluri's ethnicity. Miss New York Nina Davuluri is the first woman of Indian descent to win the title and her win prompted some disconcerting comments from people who have shallow views and deeper prejudices.

Some people made the ridiculous error of thinking that if Miss Davuluri is Indian then she must be a Muslim terrorist.

How absurd is that?

Anyway, despite all idiotic notions aside, the Miss America 2014 pageant was very entertaining, featured women not usually seen in beauty pageants and was one of the best beauty pageant competitions in ages.

You can watch the full Miss America 2014 pageant in the video player below.

Watch video: Did Justin Bieber use the N-Word in new song?

To be embroiled in a controversy for using the "N-Word" is death to a career, just ask Paula Deen. Now, rumors are circulating that Justin Bieber is guilty of using the forbidden, racial epithet in one of his songs. Fortunately for Bieber fans, this is just a rumor and there is no truth to it. That's right folks, Justin Bieber did not utter, rap, mutter, sing, or shout the N-Word while outdriving paparazzo on L.A.'s freeways.

What happened is this: an unidentified hacker created a website and uploaded a song titled "What She Wants (Official 2013), to a seemingly official YouTube account. The account was NOT official, but the a fake and the song in the video was not sung by Bieber.

You can watch this video report exposing the hoax and word is that Bieber's team wants to track the perpetrator and take legal action.

The fake song has since been removed by YouTube.

Have no fear Beliebers, Bieber did not sing, rap, or shout the N-Word.

Paula Deen sponsors abandon her in light of racist scandal (Today videos)

Not everyone thinks that Paula Deen’s admitted use of the N-word and other racial slurs demands the end of her empire, but her sponsors aren't’ taking any chances. As of June 30, 2013, Target, The Food Network, Wal-Mart, Smithfield Foods, Home Depot, Caesar’s Entertainment and the pharmaceutical company Novo Nordisk has abandoned the cooking guru. Deen’s empire is crumbling around her and many wonder if she’ll make a comeback like other celebrities who have seen their fair share of controversy and abandonment.

Some celebrities who have been in a place similar to Deen include Martha Stewart, Tiger Woods, Michael Vick, and Lance Armstrong. While Tiger Woods and Stewart may be credited with the best
comebacks, it should be noted that not everyone who is involved with racial scandals bounces back as easily.

Michael Richards who played Cosmo Kramer on “Seinfeld” is still haunted by his career demise when he referred to several audience members at his stand-up, comedy routine in West Hollywood’s Laugh Factory as the N-word and other racial slurs. The incident occurred in 2006, and Richards has yet to rebound from the scandal.

Martha Stewart’s and Tiger Woods’ scandals were of a different element entirely. Another example of how difficult it can be to recover from racist scandals is Academy Award winning director and producer Mel Gibson. Though his acting career continues, many will readily acknowledge that the name Mel Gibson doesn’t hold the same clout it once had. Gibson has been caught making several anti-semitic references and rage-filled, audio tapes of his fights with business partners and his ex-girlfriend went public showing the actor in a dim light. What Gibson may have in his favor post-scandal that Richards and Deen do not have, is a well-publicized alcohol addiction. With Gibson, there is a reason behind his behavior, one that could be treated through abstinence and behavioral counseling.

Like Richards, Deen may find that there is no comeback awaiting her in the future. That doesn’t mean; however, that Deen is through.

In fact, Deen’s die-hard fans have rallied to her support. Her book sales are up and business at her restaurant is booming.

This may not mean the ultimate end for Deen, but it may mean significant change. If Deen never gets back on The Food Network, or has her products in Target and Wal-Mart, that doesn’t mean she’s through. She just may have to find different outlets.

Duane Lee "Dog" Chapman, Sr from “Dog the Bounty Hunter” endured his own racial scandal and fallout when tapes of him using the N-word went public. A&E dropped his show, but later reinstated it after hearing his side of the story.

What the future holds for Deen is anyone’s guess, but at this point, it appears that she’s in for a time of upheaval and change as sponsors are dropping her faster than Deen can say “I is what I is, and I'm not changing,” to Matt Lauer on ‘Today.’

Soledad O'Brien heads to HBO for Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel (videos)

Journalist Soledad O'Brien may be a familiar face to CNN's "Black in America" but she is soon to expand her audience. HBO announced on June 12, 2013, that the award winning journalist will move to HBO and join the show "Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel."

HBO Sports president Ken Hershman released a statement regarding the move. He stated, "Soledad is a perfect fit for Real Sports. She’s an extraordinary interviewer and storyteller, and we’re thrilled to be able to add her to a franchise where the emphasis is on finding and presenting thought-provoking stories in the diverse and ever-fascinating world of sports.”

Not only is O'Brien an accomplished journalist, but she is also CEO of the production company Starfish Media Group. She describes the company on Twitter as, "We produce docs, scripted and non scripted series, and MOWs for CNN and others."

Through her deal with HBO, O'Brien will provide HBO with "first dibs" so to speak, regarding new scripts and programming ideas.

Bryant Gumbel released a statement regarding the deal. He stated, "Soledad’s a respected journalist with a proven track record. Her credibility, broad interests and passion make her a wonderful addition to our program. I’m thrilled to have her on our Real Sports team."

Homeless woman arrested 396 times may be using system for shelter

On June 10, 2013, the Chicago Sun Times reported on the curious case of homeless Chicago woman Shermain Miles, who has been arrested a reported 396 times over the past 35 years. That means she has been arrested the equivalent of
Shermain Miles
once per day an entire year in a row, and then an additional 30-day month of arrests. It is a staggering amount of arrests to comprehend.

As the report states that Miles is homeless, it is highly possible she is using the correctional system in order to have housing. Whether suffering from mental illness or using the system for shelter, Cook County Judge Peggy Chiampas gave the 51-year-old a break.

"All of us are reaching out to you and offering you, maybe for the first time in your life, a hand, OK? But you’ve got to reach out and grab all of our hands as well," the Sun Times reported the Judge as saying. Though currently in custody at the Lincoln, Illinois facility Logan Correctional Center, Judge Chiampas ordered Miles to a treatment program for substance abuse and one that will address her mental health issues.

Miles reportedly thanked the judge for her leniency and kindness in hoping she finds real treatment and ends the cycle once and for all. Miles reportedly served three years on an armed robbery conviction. She was accused of attacking Ald. James Cappleman (46th) in 2011 and had other charges of trespassing and consuming alcohol in public.

What do you think? Do you think the fact that Miles is described as homeless may factor into her arrests? Was she using the system for shelter or do you think she may be mentally ill?

OKLAHOMA CITY - May 27, 2013 – Usher and Darius Rucker have been added to the lineup of performers set to hit the stage for the May 29 “Healing in the Heartland: Relief Benefit Concert” organized and headlined by Blake Shelton.

Others set to perform include Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts and Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, as well as Grammy Award-winning artists Miranda Lambert, Reba and Vince Gill.

Usher is a coach alongside Shelton on NBC’s “The Voice” and is a multi-platinum recording artist.

Usher has been ranked by the Recording Industry Assn. of America as one of the best-selling artists in American music history, having sold over 44 million albums worldwide. He has won numerous awards including eight Grammy Awards and was named the #1 Hot 100 artist of the 2000s decade. Billboard named him the second most successful artist of the 2000s decade, with his career-propelling 2004 album “Confessions” being ranked as the top solo album of the 2000s decade. Usher has attained nine Hot 100 #1 hits (all as a lead artist) and 18 Hot 100 top-10 singles.

Rucker, who has been the lead singer of Hootie & The Blowfish since the band was formed in 1986, is now a certified platinum-selling country performer. His latest album chart topping debut, “True Believers,” includes the single “Wagon Wheel,” which hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Chart.

Clint Eastwood says he'd love to direct movies at age 105

Clint Eastwood is 85-years-young, and if the actor, director, producer and politician has his way, he'll be directing movies for the next 20 years. The Associated Press' Jake Coyle caught up with the legendary Oscar winner at Robert DeNiro's Tribeca Film Festival, where he made the statements. Speaking about 104-year-old Portuguese director Manoel de Oliveira to Coyle, Clint Eastwood stated, "It would be great to be 105 and still making films. "Chuckling, he called such a hope "the ultimate optimism."

Born May 31, 1930, Eastwood is quickly approaching his 83rd birthday and hasn't shown any hints of slowing down. What his next project will ultimately be is up in the air, however. Beyonce Knowles was slated to star in an Eastwood remake of the classic A Star is Born, but rumor had it that Beyonce dropped out, quite possibly over her political affiliations and Clint Eastwood's infamous "Empty Chair" skit at the Republican National Convention. Beyonce's popularity isn't at an all time high right now, anyway, so the delay is probably in the best interest for all.

Personally, I think Beyonce is a weak actresses and don't think Eastwood should waste his time casting her in a lead role. Let Beyonce stick to singing and cast real talent in lead roles...keep those Oscar nominations coming, right?

So, Hollywood Reporter hints that Eastwood is considering a Jersey Boys picture, but just what is in the works right now for the iconic actor and award-winning director remains to be seen.

I saw Play Misty for Me when I was roughly 13-years-old. It was one of my favorite psychological dramas (one of the first I had seen), and I love when Eastwood sticks with that genre. Mystic River was phenomenal and I would love to see Eastwood explore characters that are slightly more deranged again.

But whatever he does, it's sure to be a great success.

Do you think Gwyneth Paltrow is the most beautiful woman in the world?

The Internet is buzzing after People magazine named Gwyneth Paltrow as the most beautiful woman in the world for 2013. Do you think Gwyneth deserves the title? When I was a young girl, I had a few sayings that I held close to my heart. One was, "Please be patient, God isn't finished with me yet," the other was, "Following the crowd leads nowhere, and "Beauty is only skin deep." It's the last phrase that has always set my standards for beauty and kept my mind aware of the face that another saying is true, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder."

True beauty is internal, not physical and when one person judge's physical beauty, there determination often varies from another person's. I have seen debates online where some say Angelina Jolie's lips are the sexiest creation on the planet, while others will argue they are gross. There have been great debates over who is the most beautiful, Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie. There is never an answer because it is a matter of personal opinion, taste and preferences. The problem with naming Gwyneth Paltrow the most beautiful woman in the world (and there are many) is the majority of people do not feel she is the most beautiful inside or out. In fact, when Gwyneth Paltrow starred with Scarlett Johansson, immediate comparisons were made with many comments equating Johansson's fuller, curvier figure as indicative as being more beautiful than Gwyneth Paltrow. It seems that People magazine hasn't realized the standards and perception of beauty has changed and more people are embracing curves and what we common folk describe as "real beauty" as opposed to the "Twiggy" waif look that comes from alternative lifestyles, extreme dieting or other extreme diet approaches, rigorous approaches to exercise and costly "beauty enhancements" that are simply out of reach for the lower and middle class members of society.

Not to mention this issue is for the most beautiful woman in the world. Is People magazine (or any outlet that comes up with such a ridiculous title) even aware of the varying degrees of beauty found throughout the world?

If we measured beauty by a woman's heart, there's a great chance that what we would define as "most beautiful" would never be found in Hollywood. If we look at physical attributes, I would include all ethnic groups as there are some women around the world who have the most extraordinary features and natural coloring combinations. For me, I would include women such as those from the Middle East with jet-black, shiny hair and green eyes, or dark-skinned women with striking natural hair colors such as blonde or red. There are so many beautiful women in the world that Gwyneth Paltrow's super-thin and curveless figure, blonde hair and blue eyes not only doesn't make the cut, she doesn't even enter the competition.

These "covers" and "titles" are absolutely senseless in my opinion. But even if I were to indulge myself and comb through all of Hollywood's offerings to find the most beautiful woman (could we call these lists what they really are..."The Most Beautiful Woman in Hollywood"?) I would probably end up with one of the 50s bombshells who have passed...Marilyn Monroe, Jane Russell, etc., maybe eve go back to Rita Hayworth...I could ponder about Liz Taylor...but then I would catch myself and say what about other ethnicities...is the most beautiful woman in Hollywood a white woman? What about other ethnic groups...Salma Hayek, Paula Patton, Thandie Newton, Dorothy Dandridge. I'm sorry, these lists are just a joke. They really annoy me as well.

Don't little girls have enough to deal with when it comes to body image than to have pictures of scrawny, blonde women shoved in their faces and told that is the most beautiful woman in the world?

I'm not sure what you think, but I can tell you this. I have nothing against Gwyneth Paltrow. I don't know her and she is a fine actress. But don't tell me she is the most beautiful woman in the world. Just as she said, "It obviously isn't true."

Are real-life crime and court proceedings the best thing in reality television these days?

After reading a piece by NBC's Today show "The Clicker" about new reality television programs, I have to wonder if the best thing that reality television has to offer is real-life crime and court proceedings.

After all, everyone knows that reality television is hardly reality but scripted programs that appear to look like real life. When you compare these programs to the drama of some of the most popular court trials publicized on television (think O.J. Simpson, Casey Anthony and Jodi Arias), it seems there really is no comparison. When you want to watch "real" reality television, crime and court proceedings are your best bet.

The allure of crime programming is great too. There may be a lot of cattiness on shows such as Real Housewives of Beverly Hills but compared to the antics of Casey Anthony preceding her 2011 murder trial for the death of her nearly three-year-old, adorable daughter Caylee, most would switch the channel from RHOBH to see Casey's mug in court any day.

And let's not forget the trial that is currently taking the nation by storm: Jodi Arias. Arias is accused of murdering her secret lover on June 4, 2008, then going about her business for a month as if she was nothing but a grieving friend. Every element a writer could put into a scripted "reality" program is in abundant form in the Arias trial.

Do you want sex, murder, pedophilia, religion, violence, abuse take your pick? The Jodi Arias trial contained some of the raunchiest, dirtiest, and most vulgar language ever to hit television airwaves.

Let's go back to the O.J. Simpson trial, shall we? You simply couldn't ask for a better cast of characters than the ones that popped up during that 1995 trial. Who could forget Kato Kaelin, who actually rose to fame from the trial?

O.J. Simpson awaits verdict on October 3, 1995.

Maybe one of the draws with live trials and why they seem to hook viewers so easily is that you really don't know what the outcome will be. Not only do televised live trials give an inside look at court proceedings, something many may find interesting, but there really is no way to predict how a jury will vote.

Both O.J. Simpson and Casey Anthony were acquitted during their trials; much to the shock and horror of those who faithfully tuned in to the daily broadcasts.

And who could forget the release of live doves after Michael Jackson was acquitted of child molestation? Honestly, would a scriptwriter even think of crafting a story where a pop music sensation...the "King of Pop" is put on trial for child molestation, wears his pajamas to court, then at his acquittal, onlookers celebrate by releasing doves into the California breeze?

Here are some videos from Michael Jackson's acquittal and other infamous moments from live, reality court television.

If you weren't aware, Mr Kardashian is the father of Kim, Kourtney, Khloe and Rob.

The Casey Anthony verdict prompted protests.

The Jodi Arias trial continues live, you may watch it below.

Jimmy Fallon to take over 'The Tonight Show' after Jay Leno retires (video)

The rumors have been confirmed. After Jay Leno retires this spring, he will hand the reigns of the late-night television series "The Tonight Show" to NBC's other talk show king, Jimmy Fallon. Leno hosted the show for an impressive 22 years.

Rumors circulated this past week that Fallon would take the lead, prompting a musical, comedy skit performed by Leno and Fallon that became a viral hit. You may see the video below.

Fallon's takeover comes with a much pleasant tone as compared to the drama that ensued last time Jay Leno left "The Tonight Show" and Conan O'Brien took the show to California. Team Leno and Team Coco dominated headlines with some of Conan's fans becoming furious over the perceived drama that ensued.

Fallon's transition as the newest host of "The Tonight Show" is expected to be smooth and trouble free. Fallon has a large fan-base (not that Conan O'Briend didn't), but his appeal far surpasses late night, college crowds and he is expected to keep Leno's loyal viewers while possibly bringing some of his late night followers to the show.

Jimmy Fallon released the following statement regarding the move. "I’m really excited to host a show that starts today instead of tomorrow."

At this point, there is no word who will take over the late night spot that currently airs "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon."

Additionally, once Fallon takes helm of the "Tonight Show" ship, the show will move back to New York where Saturday Night Live executive Lorne Michaels will serve as executive producer. The pairing of Fallon and Michaels only promises to bring future success, and though nothing has been confirmed, word is that SNL alumni Seth Meyers may take over Fallon's soon-to-be-vacated position.

What do you think about Fallon taking over "The Tonight Show?"

Bates Motel: Why is Robert Pattinson's little brother on the show? (videos)

I am loving A&E's new series Bates Motel, and apparently, I'm in great company. According to a new press release, the new series opened to 4.6 million viewers. My guess is the show will continue to draw audiences. There are many aspects to this show that put it in the forefront for being one of cable network's most watched series, and should continue to draw attraction to the A&E network. I have so many praises for this series, I'm really not sure where to begin. From Vera Farmiga as Norma Bates, to the wonderfully creative way in which the directors incorporated the vintage setting of the original Psycho movie for the motel, while bringing the show into a modern day environment, I'm thrilled with this psychological portrait that helps us understand one of Hollywood's most sinister characters: Norman Bates.

On another note, I wonder how many people were like I and noticed some similarities between several cast members and other stars. First of all, there is the character of Richard Sylmore, played by 21-year-old Richard Harmon. Oh my gosh, can we say Edward Cullen's long lost brother? It didn't help that we were introduced to Richard in the dimly lit, pale-green. Twilight setting that instantly took me away from Bates and had me wondering if Bella was at the party.

Yes, it has nothing to do with Bates Motel, but Harmon has an uncanny resemblance to Robert Pattinson (he isn't really his little brother, just looks like him). So much so, it took me out of the Norman Bates moment and into Stephenie Meyers' saga. I'd like to see Harmon and Pattinson cast as brothers in another film. That would be awesome.

Richard Harmon (l) Robert Pattinson (r) there is no known shared lineage between the two.

Okay, second similarity that I believe will only help Bates' success is Vera Farmiga and her little sister Taissa Farmiga. Vera Farmiga is not as well known as she should be, but I feel that will soon change. Vera has been in numerous films, but was nominated for an Academy Award for her role as Alex Goran in the George Clooney pic Up in the Air. Even then, many were unaware of exactly who Vera Farmiga was.

Though there is quite an age difference between Vera and little sister Taissa, they look incredibly similar as most siblings do. Taissa Farmiga starred in the FX hit American Horror Story as Violet Harmon. To see Vera Farmiga enter into the horror genre after Taissa's success in American Horror Story is just too perfect.

Now, Carlton Cruse and Kerry Ehrin serve as executive producers for Bates Motel. Cruse produced Lost while Ehrin worked on Friday Night Lights. Lost alumni Nestor Carbonell was undoubtedly selected to play the dual role of Sheriff Alex Romero / Sheriff Royce Romero due to his connections to Lost, but in a strange coincidence, Carbonell bears an uncanny resemblance to the original Norman Bates: Anthony Perkins. I believe Carbonell looks so similar to Perkins, that should Bates Motel wish to ever portray a grown Norman Bates, they don't need a casting call, but could simply give Carbonell a triple role!

Check out this side-by-side photo with Nestor Carbonell on the left and Anthony Perkins on the right.

Nestor Carbonell (l) Anthony Perkins (r)

Honestly, I think Carbonell's striking physical similarity to Perkins is another bit of distraction as I'm sure many who watched the original Psycho might wonder why Perkins son is in the television series.

Okay...well that brings us to...Freddie Highmore, who plays Norman Bates. While Carbonell looks more like Perkins than Freddie Highmore does, it has to be said that Highmore's acting skills are top-of-the line. He has brought many of the nuances Perkins and Hitchcock created in the character to the television screen and it's been delightful to watch. From Highmore's opening segment where he stumbled out of his room searching for his deceased father, to his stammering ways that reveal Norman Bates is a few jokers short of a full deck, Highmore does a magnificent job capturing and portraying the essence of Norman Bates.

If you've missed the first two episodes of Bates Motel, I recommend you tune in and check out this great series.

Bates Motel airs on the A&E network, Monday nights at 10 pm, ET with numerous replays throughout the week. Check your local listings. Those who have On Demand programming will also find Bates Motel readily available for watching 24/7. Those without cable programming can watch the show online at the official A&E network.

Kendall Jenner too skinny? Compared to what, Kim Kardashian? (photos, videos)

Kendall Jenner, the younger, half-sister of the Kardashians is making headlines not just for her stunning Harpers Bazaar Arabia photo shoot, but for responding to critics who deem the model is too skinny.

First, Kendall Jenner is 17-years-old, therefore, critics should take into account that when they begin to rip apart the young socialite's physical appearance, they are attacking a model. Second, Kendall Jenner is a Wilhelmina model, her information (such as measurements) are posted publicly on the site, and as you can see, the stunning 5'10" model is right in the range of other models. Kendall Jenner is embarking upon a thriving modeling career and the daughter of Olympic, gold-medalist Bruce Jenner and Kris Jenner is definitely leaving her mark. While it is true that there are many in the modeling and fashion industry who exploit severely underweight and anorexic models, it doesn't appear that Kendall Jenner is so thin that she warrants this type of unwanted attention.

Is it possible that critics are comparing her to her half-sisters Kourtney, Khloe and pregnant Kim Kardashian, therefore feeling the teenager is too skinny?

Kendall Jenner apparently loves modeling, as revealed by several of her tweets
It is a bit ironic that Kendall Jenner is getting undue attention and accused of being too skinny, while her Kardashian sisters are regularly fed to the media as if they are an all-you-can eat buffet. While Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney are continually criticized for their size and accused of being overweight, Kendall is now targeted for being underweight.

Kendall Jenner spoke about the criticism in Harpers Bazaar Arabia. She stated, "I'm constantly criticized for being too skinny. I'm trying to gain weight but my body won't let it happen. What people don't understand is that calling someone too skinny is the same as calling someone too fat. It's not a nice feeling."

Do you think those criticizing Kendall Jenner for her weight are actually bullying her?

Best Actress nominee Jennifer Lawrence dazzled in a gorgeous, white Dior gown on Feb. 24, 2013. The "Hunger Games" actress has been nominated for her role in "Silver Linings Playbook," and while an Oscar win won't be determined for several hours, she's certain to win a spot on the "Best Dressed List."

Check out these videos of Jennifer Lawrence in her beautiful white gown as she made the red carpet rounds. Kristin Chenoweth interviewed Jennifer and pointed out that she was 4'11 while Jennifer stood 5'8 (and was wearing heels).
