Jon Stewart headed to North Carolina for Democratic Convention (videos)

Those who want to enjoy the Democratic Convention courtesy of Jon Stewart may wish to pick up their tickets and plan a trip to North Carolina. “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” will tape from Charlotte, North Carolina at the ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center. Tickets will be sold exclusively through the Daily Show website. The DNC specials will air beginning Tuesday, September 4, 2012 throughout Friday, September 7, 2012.

“The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” Executive Producer Rory Albanese released a statement regarding the special event, “We are incredibly excited to spend a week in the beautiful city of Charlotte. And to the good people of North Carolina, for their southern hospitality in hosting 125 smart-aleck New Yorkers, we offer in advance our thanks, but most of all, our apologies. Honestly, we didn't mean to break that, and we promise we'll pay for it.”

The ImaginOn: The Joe & Joan Martin Center is located at 300 East Seventh St. in Charlotte, North Carolina; however, you will not be able to purchase tickets through the venue.

In other news, Jon Stewart will present at this year’s “The Comedy Awards” where he will bestow the Johnny Carson Award For Comedic Excellence to recipient Don Rickles. Jon Stewart is one of several board of directors for “The Comedy Awards” which is in its second year. He joins notable comedians Carol Burnett, Lily Tomlin, Stephen Colbert, Conan O’Brien, and many more on the board.

The second annual Comedy Awards will air on May 6, 2012 at 9:00 pm, ET on Comedy Central.
